Freestanding IDL Applications

Detached or freestanding IDL applications that can be executed independently of DAVE can be found here. Some of these may require that the IDL virtual machine be installed and would be indicated as such in the installation instructions. The IDL virtual machine is freely available from the makers of IDL.


Cross sections calculator

This application calculates the microscopic and macroscopic scattering, absorption and total neutron cross sections, the number density, and the molecular weight of a material, given its chemical formula, its mass density and the neutron wavelength. The number density can also be calculated from a set of unit cell parameters and the number of formula units per unit cell.
