Overview

The fourth NOBUGS conference will be held in November, 2002 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD, USA.

NOBUGS 2002 provides a unique venue for developers and users of computer techniques in scientific instrumentation, especially as employed at large scale user facilities, e.g. synchrotron-radiation and neutron-scattering facilities. The conference features oral and poster presentations related to recent developments in software, techniques, and standards in the information technology areas relevant to the scientific research facilities.

The conference seeks to improve the user's scientific productivity by focusing on the interaction between the experimenter and the facilities' infrastructures, apparatus, and data.

The conference topics include, but are not limited to:

A tour of NIST and NIST Center for Neutron Research facilities will be provided, as well as the traditional conference banquet.

Gaithersburg's location near Washington DC, Annapolis and Baltimore provides easy access to tourism and entertainment opportunities for conference attendees and their accompanying persons.
