Materials Science with Neutrons and High Energy X-rays at GKSS: Current Research and Future Opportunities
Andreas Schreyer, Geesthacht, Germany
The talk will give an overview of current research activities at GKSS in various fields of materials science using diffraction and imaging techniques. Examples will include measurements of residual stresses and imaging experiments on airplane and rocket components using both neutrons and high energy X-rays. The complementarity of both probes will be discussed and an outlook on the future research strategy of GKSS in this research field will be given.
